A list of the top 5 regrets people say aloud on their deathbed
So if you think your having a bad day read this, it will make you go quiet - Ms. Bronnie Ware, a woman who worked for years with the dying, wrote a list of the top 5 regrets people say aloud on their deathbed: For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives. People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality. I learnt never to underestimate someone's capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. Each experienced a variety of emotions, as expected, denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance. Every single patient found their peace before they departed though, every one of them. When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, common themes surfaced again and again. Here are the most common five:
1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
This was the most common regret of all. When people realise that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people have had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.
2. I wish I hadn't worked so hard.
"This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children's youth and their partner's companionship. Women also spoke of this regret, but as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence."
3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
"Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as a result."
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
"Often they would not truly realise the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying."
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
"This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realise until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called 'comfort' of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content, when deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again."

Man wins George Clooney lookalike contest despite looking nothing like him
I guess if he wouldn't have won no one would be talking about this competition. Judges in a George Clooney lookalike contest have been branded Clooless — for picking a winner who looks nothing like him. David Glendon, 27, beat nearly 800 hopefuls to be declared the image of the 50-year-old Hollywood idol. Entrants had to send in photos of themselves posing like debonair George for the competition in the Republic of Ireland — the star's ancestral homeland. David, who has ginger hair and blue eyes, said: "I only entered for a bit of a laugh. "I was taken by surprise when I was told I'd won. There's been a lot of debate since about whether I look like him. But someone thought I did, so I'll take the good with the bad." The contest was organised in Kilkenny by local Gabriel Murray, who is filming a documentary about Clooney's roots there. Gabriel insisted: "It wasn't just about looks, there were a lot of other factors in consideration.(Image: REX) Check this out...

‘Flying People’ Stun New Yorkers to Promote New Movie ‘Chronicle’ (Video)
This is actually awesome - thought for a second they were real. Ads for 1978's "Superman: The Movie" proclaimed "You'll believe a man can fly." This past weekend, a very different kind of promotion for a new superhero film actually did convince some New Yorkers that human beings had taken to the skies. What looked to be three people were spotted flying around the skies of lower Manhattan last Friday, causing a lot of double-takes and dropped jaws from onlookers. But while it appeared to be a sight straight out of a comic book, it was actually a clever bit of viral marketing for this week's upcoming film "Chronicle." Those aren't people in the air, but some very intricately designed radio-controlled airplanes. Watch the video of their flight, and keep reading to learn how it was done. The movie tells the story of three high school students who discover they have superpowers, including the ability to fly. (Image: Youtube) Check this out...

The Zuckerberg roommate said no to Facebook and missed out on $400 million
I am sure he got some form of compensation - would be gutted if not. Facebook is due to become a publicly traded company on Wednesday when it will launch with an expected $100billion valuation, but one man in Mark Zuckerberg's social network won't be celebrating to the same extent. Joe Green is the former college roommate of Mr Zuckerberg who, unlike his famous friend, decided to stay enrolled in Harvard instead of dropping out to make Facebook. That decision is called his $400million mistake. Even in spite of the mistake, Mr Green now runs a charitable giving site called Causes and through that as well as the shares of Facebook which he owns, he will still likely make a multi-million dollar profit from the company's expected launch. 'My father, who's a professor, was not too happy with the prospect of me getting kicked out of school,' Mr Green told Good Morning America.

Mother sends child to school with Smarties sandwich - five a day?
That's a new one! Haven't tried that one, Greggs might have that soon :) Teachers were appalled when a mother sent her child to school with a sandwich filled with just Smarties. The chocolate-filled butty has prompted calls for an overhaul in pupils' diets at the Lincolnshire school - including a trial of free school meals. Health workers at NHS Lincolnshire went in to assess what pupils were bringing in for lunch - and found a wealth of youngsters were gorging on crisps, sweets and chocolate. Lincolnshire already has one of the highest rates of childhood obesity in the country, with one in three children categorised as obese. But not only have the free school meals seen children eating more healthy lunchtime options such as pasta, baked potatoes and lean meat, it is also said to have improved behaviour. Lynne McNiven, assistant director of public health, told the Sunday Express 'When we heard about the Smarties sandwich, it was horrifying. (Image: Robin Bell) Check this out...

Twinings New Green Tea - More than your average Green tea
Christmas may have only been one a month away, but come the New Year, the extra gained pounds are a constant remainder of weight and health risks and how to manage them more effectively. One way to diminish fat cells in our body is to switch our food intake to healthier alternatives with less harmful substances for our body to break down. Green tea, for example, could be an excellent substitute for consuming coffee. There are several clear-cut health benefits of green tea over coffee, but first let us examine why an excess of coffee is ultimately bad for our bodies. Firstly, several cups of coffee, (complete with cream and sugar), can result in a belly-bulge. Even when consumed plain, coffee can increase risks of LDL (low-density lipoprotein) levels, which raises our body’s cholesterol. Coffee is also high in caffeine, and so we crave more of it.(Image: Twinnings) Check this out...

Video of student Amy McCrow dancing naked in Cardiff nightclub goes viral on internet
She will be regretting this :) Oh well your only once young. A student is counting the cost of cheap drinks promotions today after video of her dancing naked in an inflatable paddling pool at a nightclub went viral on the internet. The university student - who MailOnline has chosen not to identify - woke up this morning to find that a 10-minute video of the incident at Oceana nightclub in Cardiff had been circulated widely on Twitter. Her behaviour is a classic example of Britain's binge-drinking culture - and the embarrassment it can cause. And the speed with which her drunken antics went viral highlights the power of social media. A one-minute version was available on YouTube and attracted more than 1,000 hits in less than 10 minutes. It has now been removed. The 20-year-old took part in a wet T-shirt contest as part of the Missbehaviour event - billed as 'Cardiff's naughtiest night' - where vodka and other spirits cost just £1.75 for a double.
