We all know that education is becoming less and less affordable and housing is one of the big costs faced by students. This is especially true for England. A company called Urban Rigger, is now using shipping containers stacked on a floating base to create low-cost studio apartments for students. Using shipping containers the accommodation can be configured in lots of different ways. The roofs of the shipping containers are not wasted space, for example, and can be used for terraces, gardens and solar panelling. Windows and doors are punched out of the corrugated frames and they can connect to glazed greenhouses. Could this solve the student housing crises? For more information please click here. Scott Urban, from Chicago, spent 10 years creating custom handmade wooden eyeglasses through his company Urban Spectacles. He was among one of the first to create wooden eyeglasses and he has now developed reflective eyewear, which as the name says, reflect light. You might think that this does not sound like anything special, wait until you see his video. It will change celebrity journalism forever. While Reflectacles appear brightly illuminated to others, the vision of the user remains unchanged. For more information click here  ! Image Source: Screenshot/Youtube/2016

I have never played golf but I can imagine that it would be hassle if you are out on the field and you suddenly need to pee. This is where the UroClub comes in, it is the first golf club you can pee in. Created by a Board Certified Urologist, it looks like an ordinary golf club, but contains a reservoir built into the grip to where a user can relieve himself into. It comes with a privacy shield, which is a little towel-like piece of fabric that hangs down in front of your pants. The idea is that when the need hits you, you just open up your UroClub, snug it up under the privacy shield then just stand there and look like you’re giving a lot of thought to your next swing. Meet Chuck McCarthy, Los Angeles’s first people walker. McCarthy walks humans for $7 a mile around the streets and a park near his home. He provides the ability to walk, talk and, above all, listen. The idea started off as a joke, but soon the underemployed actor noticed that he had something special. So far he has been walking clients nearly every day of the week and he is now getting repeat clients. After setting up a Facebook page, McCarthy is receiving hundreds of requests from the lonely, the curious and the adventurous. McCarthy has already recruited five other walkers to serve different parts of LA, but he is not taking any cut from their income until he has figured out a working business model.

After all the attention McCarthy is considering crowdfunding to hire techies to design an Uber-style app. The app would let walkers and clients rate each other for personality and walking speed. Good idea or what? For his Facebook page click here, for more info click here. Image Source: Screenshot/Facebook/Noah Smith/2016

As a kid I used to dream of owning a RC plane. 30 years later I still do not have one. Nevertheless they still fascinate me. In this video you will see a 1:2 scale model of a Saab JAS 39 Gripen that recently flew at a model airshow in Germany. Sadly this beautiful bird broke up in mid-air, causing a spectacular crash at 1:49. Moments after the breakup you can see the plane’s builder’s absolutely devastated by sudden carnage. I don’t even want to know how much the plane cost and how much time it took to be built! Image Source: Screenshot/Youtube/2016
