We all know that if you want to stand out from the crowd you have to do something unusual. This is what an advertising agency in Tokyo must have thought, when it decided to use women’s thighs as a living billboard. Due to the nature of Tokyo, where it is extremely hard to reach a target market, because of the sheer amount of billboards, signs and TV ads already present in the city it is difficult to stand out.
According to the CEO, Hidenori Atsumi of the advertising agency, WIT, the female thigh is the perfect place for an ad, as it is a place men are happy to pay attention to and it hasn’t been done before. It seems to be a popular idea as over 3000 women have signed up to the scheme, which uses temporary tattoos to advertise a product or a company.
In order to participate in the scheme participants must be at least 18-years-old and are required to have at least 20 friends on social media networks. In general girls can wear what they want as long as they expose the ad – meaning they will have to wear short skirts and high socks in order to draw attention to the ad. Each participant can earn up to £65 per day.
