Meet “Norimitsu Odachi”, the longest nihonto (Japanese blade) ever to be built. The sword is 377 cm long and weighs an incredible 14.5 kilograms. It was made by Norimitsu of Osafune in August 1447. What is so amazing about this sword is that it was forged the same way as a traditional Japanese sword. It was made as a complete sword and not simply made in sections and tacked together.
