Footage has been released, showing one of the biggest white sharks ever caught on tape. This great white shark is called “Deep Blue” and it was filmed in 2014 approaching a shark cage near Guadalupe Island, off Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. Researcher Mauricio Hoyos Padilla, can be seen exiting the safety of his cage and touching the shark, appearing to give it a high-five.
The video was taken during the making of a Discovery Channel documentary in which researchers identify Deep Blue as a then-pregnant female shark that approached 22 feet in length. These fish average about 15 feet in length. Image Source: Screenshot/Youtube/2015
